The shared restrooms are very clean and comfortable too. And last but not least, the menu gives you sufficient choice for a lovely diner on the veranda at night with a nice glas of wine. It was the best hotel we stayed at in Japan, making it the highlight of our trip! We did not expect it to be so beautiful and luxurious. We paid for half board, which meant we were welcomed with a delicious dinner made up of countless beautifully plated courses. The next morning, breakfast was just as excellent. Our room was perfect, with a private hot spring bath on the balcony. We will never forget the view overlooking a lake at sunset.
The staff were amazing! I stayed there on my birthday and the staff went above & beyond to make it special. They gave me chop sticks and chocolate as a gift as well as a free desert with happy birthday written on it. Truely a special stay! The room was comfy & clean with great facilities in an awesome location
We love the room as we had the green (garden) and the blue (pool and sea) views from our room. The sunset was amazing.
Super comfy bed in the capsule room. Good bathroom and shower facilities. Lovely lounge area with an open fire and bar, where you are also welcome to bring your own food and drink in. Great location near the lake for sunset with Mount Fuji as a backdrop, just a 7 minute walk from the lake and main bus stop.
Hudge amount of meal with a balanced quality and quantity. Nice desert. Freedom of choices on top of omesaki course. Good and lean beef choice. Ok enough for meal. Small but well designed public spa. Clean . Good osen. Nice to offer free beer, chocolate milk, and ice sticks for after osen cool off. Bed is super comfortable. Not much support and firm but very pluffy and soft. Nice soft towels, shampoo and body lotions. Good private in room osen. Ample room space.
I loved the uniqueness of the experience. We embraced what we had walked into and as a result had a great time. You see the town was deserted. Most houses boarded up. (An aging population I believe?) It was a short train or bus ride to all the touristy hakone stuff which made the location good.
Sea, sunset and Mt. Fuji view Good breakfast service and a decent environment Cozy restaurants nearby ...
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, staff was polite and was fluent in english (especially when my japanese failed). The private onsen was big and was empty the two times I used it. Free drinks, alcohol, snacks (dangos, taiyaki, popcorn, cake, etc..). Room was satisfying and condominum units have onsen water piped into their bathtub. There is a library with books and games, kids corner for toddlers and an outdoor corner with tents. Location was photogenic too. Short walk from Gora station and right beside Gyoza Center.
The location is very good - right across from the beautiful beach. Keep in mind thorugh that this is not really beach front, there is a very busy and sometimes noisy road in front and you have to cross tot he beach using tunnels under the road. It had a great patio with chairs a table and a hammock and great views, especially at sunset. The staff were over the top friendly and helpful.
