FAQs about hotels in Key West

Plenty of Limes and Good Times

Key West is a gem of an island in the Florida Keys, popular with pleasure seekers and history buffs alike. As the most southern destination in the continental United States, Key West has a fascinating history, dating back to its settlement by Spanish explorers in the 16th century.

Today, this little island off the coast of Florida attracts over a million cruise visitors a year through the Port of Key West. Visitors come to see Hemingway House, where Ernest Hemingway penned "A Farewell to Arms." Key West Cemetery provides a unique walk through the multicultural past of the city. There are also trolley rides through the historic district of Jackson Square.

There’s more than just history to Key West, however. Smathers Beach is a place to have fun in the sun, while Mallory Square provides the chance to shop and watch a magnificent sunset. The excellent bus system helps you get around the island without a car.

Key West International Airport is a mere 4 miles from Duval Street, the heart of downtown and a good place to stay for easily exploring the nearby sights. With accommodations ranging from resorts to B&Bs, Booking.com helps you get the best stay for the best price in Key West!

You'll never be disappointed in key west for the night life, sunsets, and shops. It's a historical city, so don't expect any modern or touristy things like amusement and water parks - just a great experience at the southermost point of the continental US.

Duval street has your abundance of souvenir shops, along with some nice boutiques and art galleries (which I recommend going into all the art shops). Blue Heaven restaurant is a must for breakfast, specifically the lobster eggs Benedict. For dinner with a bit more ambiance try Martins and Cafe Marquesa the food was fabulous. The butterfly conservatory, the lighthouse and Hemingway house were all great and would recommend. We also did a sunset cruise with Sunset Waterspouts and it was soo much fun.

We loved the sunset at Mallory Square, Hemingway House, Aqua Drag show, entertainment at Lateda and so much more. Stay in a central location (we were on Olivia Street) and you can walk everywhere. Dress casually and stay cool because it is very hot and humid, but gorgeous.

Key West is gorgeous and rich with history.

Key West is gorgeous and rich with history. I would call it less of a conventional beach town, as the beaches are sparse and man made because of the whole island thing. If you love the water then this is the place. Boats, jet skis, snorkeling and more are all available for you to enjoy and Duval Street is full of shopping, restaurants and bars. There are some very unique vendors with one of a kind items and lots of art appreciation from the locals. The beach stores are a little over priced on some of their beach wares, which is typical, but there is no shortage of cute and original boutiques. Rent a scooter or a golf cart when you get there. It is the best way to travel while you are there.

The hotel is an older hotel in a charming location in a quiet part of Key West. The room that we stayed in was recently renovated and was completely up to 2024 standards. The property at the hotel was very clean and well kept. Staff was friendly and very helpful. We totally enjoyed sitting out on the veranda and porch in the front of the hotel. They had very comfortable chairs and lounges where we could take in the sound of birds, chirping, etc. Would highly recommend this hotel to any of our friends.

Convenient location. We were close to everything we wanted to be. Great touch by providing complimentary bikes for a day, we enjoyed that. Provided a couple daily complimentary adult beverages, but we missed out on most of those because of the timing and activities we participated in. Nice clean and comfortable room. Bathroom/Shower was updated, clean and had plenty of space for Key West hotel room. Friendly staff. Love the fact that they are pet friendly!

This hotel was awesome, with friendly helpful staff to an amazing pool and hot tub. The ambience was fun with the food truck eating area and poolside bar, and the food was excellent. The hotel shuttle runs to and from the hotel and downtown key west every half hour, so you never have to worry about parking. The hotel is a bit expensive, but so is every hotel in this area. We definitely enjoyed our stay here.

The staff was friendly and the room was neat and clean. The room was facing the courtyard with a balcony that overlooks the pool surrounded with lush tropical garden. The location was convenient. There is a grocery store right across the street. It's easily accessible to all part of Key West if you have a car. There is a boardwalk behind the hotel with the bay view. There is parking at the property.

After paying crazily high rates at another local hotel, we found this place on Booking.com after deciding to stay an extra night (Key West is incredible, how could we not!). The Palms offered much more sensibly priced accommodation. I felt we got excellent value for money given the quality of the rooms and the fact it included breakfast. All of the staff were also really helpful and friendly.

What an unexpected pleasure! Ambrosia Key West exceeded our expectations! From the accomodating staff (we came in fairly late to the hotel) to the complimentary full, delicious breakfast, it was a pleasure. The courtyard is stunning and relaxing, morning or evening. The hotel is within walking distance to almost everything in Key West. Being a small hotel, it felt like a private oasis!

We are from South Florida, a 3 hour drive from Broward County. I did a ton of research before booking this hotel and I have to say, it is the absolute best option for me. It’s not cheap but it’s worth it. Very clean and modern, beautiful pool and beach and gulf view. Good vibes all around. No complaints whatsoever. Will definitely go back again. We had one night in Key West, and this hotel was perfect for our needs. Friendly staff, nice pool, lots of towels. great a/c and a spacious and comfortable room for our family of 3. Our teenager found the sofa bed very comfortable. The hotel breakfast was one of the best we've had--omelette's made to order in addition to a continental breakfast were an apprecaited addition.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Key West in an old building. We got a separate room Sunset. Stylish, spacious enough, with 2 balconies. Great breakfast included in the price on the patio (looks like being in Asia) with a fat cat). Parking is offered in a city parking lot 15 minutes walk for $ 15 per day.
