Mgallery Le Louis Versailles Château, hotel in Versailles

Mgallery Le Louis Versailles Château is less than a 5-minute walk from the Château de Versailles and a 20-minute drive from Parc des Princes Stadium.

It was conveniently located within walking distance to the Palace. There were two elevators and easy taxi access. Numerous restaurants were within walking distance. The room was spacious and well appointed. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. I travel frequently and this hotel is the top of my list for places I would recommend to others.

The palace was beautiful but I enjoyed the gardens and the Grand and Petit Trianon the most. Spent almost 6 hours there in total. But don't skip the town itself as it has really nice architecture, cute cobbled streets and many shops and restaurants.

I am assuming that most people travelling to Versailles are going for the Palaces and gardens. The grandeur and scale of the palaces is immense, the sense of history, excess and wealth really hits you. Having said that, you will be doing a lot of queing and you will be shuffling from room to room with 1000's of other people poking their cameras and phones into your space.

We loved Versailles plenty of cafe's, bars and restaurants to chose from at affordable prices, if you just fancy a light lunch wonderful deli offering excellent selection. Small Carrefour and other grocery stores easily accessible. We found it very easy to get around Versailles we had a 2 day pass for the Chateau and gardens and it was amazing. After reading reviews before we planned our trip we pre - booked our tickets for the earliest time possible as it can get very busy, it worked just fine we visited on Wednesday and again on Thursday.

I have been twice before over the years, It's a very expensive suburb of Paris now and an interesting town which revolves around the Chateau. The Chateau is a place you must visit once in your life at least, and allow a full day or more as the grounds are huge. It's a commercial tourist trap, long queues and not enough people selling tickets though all staff are very friendly and helpful. I would have bought online but couldn't fathom the headset guide, you could add it then it disappeared at checkout. Turns out you can't and don't need to pre-order, they are available after ticket check at a desk in the entrance, no queue. You can buy tickets from Tourist Information (they have an allocation) to beat the queues. Don't take a very expensive tour, the audio gives the same information and there are plenty of signs to stop you getting lost. Fantastic place but more or less just a portrait gallery and heaven for lovers of architecture. Just stand there and wonder at the scale, opulence and grandeur of the place. Not much catering, just essentials but the catering staff will refill a water bottle for you free if you ask nicely (a bit of French is handy). Be prepared to get your elbows out as although access is limited there are a lot of people inside, be prepared to wait for pictures and be tolerant of the bored and ignorant being dragged around! Book one of the local hotels, we used the Ibis, a 5 minute walk and used a restaurant on Rue de Satory which has a good selection and just outside the gates.

    Fantastic trip.

Fantastic trip. It had been on my bucket list for a long time and did not disappoint. Mercure hôtel exceptionally welcoming. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely recommend. The palace is of course the main reason to go to Versailles but I don’t advise visiting the inside on a Sunday. It was packed to the rafters and at time uncomfortably so. But hey ho! I loved it all. Enjoy your trip…

Versailles is not a welcoming place for visitors.

Versailles is not a welcoming place for visitors. No taxi service, The train tour of the palace is a rip off. They make you stand in the hot sun while the entire crew of drivers take a long break for lunch. If you get off there is a long wait time before you can get a spot on another train. Large tour groups block passage to many exhibits. Signage throughout the gardens and some displays is very poor and non existent in many places. A real disappointment. The hotel staff and restaurants were all good and made our time spent with them very enjoyable.

staff were very helpful, rooms are clean and well maintained. Breakfast included a good variety. location is a big advantage. easy access to several bus lines. the street behind the hotel is a place where u can find anything you need: pharmacy, several mini markets, and others. A mall Parly 2 is a 10 min bus ride away.. Versailles palace, the city center with all the nice restaurants are all nearby and with very easy access by bus. the train stations are also 10 min away by bus and from there you can go to Paris or other cities by train.

Likeable staff, perfect organisation and communication. Breakfast was excellent including home-made jogurths, marmalade/jam and/or cakes and was served by a waiter/waitress. The position of the hotel is very good - very close to the Versailles palace/Versailles congress centre (ca 5 minutes walk) and to the rail statitions (ca 5 minutes walk to Versailles Chateu and 10 minutes walk to Versailles Chantiers), city buses stop directly in front of the hotel.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. After a long journey, the beds were extremely comfortable and we loved the tea and complimentary chocolate, much better than any other hotel we visited, and much cleaner too! The hotel is extremely close to the palace, making it a very convenient location if you want to see the palace and its gardens and head back into Paris. The breakfast served was delicious and the best we had during our time in France.

Friendly accommodating staff and perfect location just a few minutes walk to the Palace of Versailles and a really short walk to the RER train line that runs directly to and from Paris. Lots of nearby restaurants. There was no problem holding our bags when we went to pick up our rent-a-car next morning. It was a great mini stop on our way from Paris to Normandy plus we avoided navigating/driving out of Paris.

The first choice for accommodation in the Palace of Versailles is very close. Everything in the hotel makes us who have just arrived in France eliminate all our fatigue. It is worth more than five stars. The restaurant's cuisine is super amazing and delicious. The bed in the room is easy to sleep, the bathroom equipment and toiletries are very comfortable, and the overall design atmosphere is great!

This beautiful hotel is located close to the palace and Chateau de Versailles. The staff were very accommodating. I could leave my luggage at the front desk until check-in/out, and when I told the night staff my plug didn't work, he went straight out to collect a new one so I could have a bath. The breakfast host was very attentive during our meal and made good coffee.

The hotel was quite basic but comfortable. It benefits from being only a ten or fifteen minute walk from the Palace of Versailles with several restaurants in close proximity. The hotel had not booked our parking space as requested and had confirmed so none were available. The reception manager, Christian, was very helpful in helping us find a space elsewhere.

The bed was comfortable. Ample hot water. I loved the old wood on the stairs going up to the apartment. The neighborhood was quiet at night and felt safe to walk around.

The rooms are very clean, the staff was extremely friendly, giving us directions and suggestions. They have a small parking (around 9 places) which is great. We really enjoyed our staying!
