This historic hotel was built in 1264 and is located at the Markusturm tower in medieval Rothenburg. It features a traditional restaurant and free Wi-Fi internet throughout the hotel. The location was great, close to the main areas of the city, and even though we stayed at the apartment located away from the main building, the staff was extremely nice and helpful. They took us there and showed us where to park. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, and with a kitchen, including complimentary coffee. Everything was perfect.

The hotel is located exactly at the main square and a lot of parking options were available on the street, which is really practical if you are arriving at Saturday evening.

The Hotel Restaurant Staussen is a hidden gem. Exceptional value for money. We stayed for one night and also reserved a table for our evening meal in the restaurant too. Our room was immaculately clean and so comfortable. We enjoyed our meal in the very busy and popular restaurant. I’d recommend reserving your table. Breakfast was a buffet - help yourself to breads, cheeses, ham, delicious yoghurts, fruit, eggs, juices, tea, coffee. perfect to start our day. A perfect, good value, overnight stop, if touring the romantic road.

There was adequate off road private parking and the charge point for our EV was easily accessed (charging cost paid directly to the hotel). There was a lot of choice at breakfast.

Plus points for us was tesla charger included in cost, we are a family of vegetarians and vegans and we're well catered for. Ate in restaurant for 3 meals, all excellent with great service. We opted for a balcony room for one of us which was amazing with views of neuschwanstein Castle and the lake and mountains. 2 other rooms were without the view but were large and comfortable.

The staff is extremely friendly - everyone greeted us or even did some small talk. From the cleaning staff up to the manager. The gym and spa area is very clean and well equipped incl a great view to the mountains. As, I am pregnant, I was amazed how well the kitchen was prepared for that. The location! 🤩 The hotel is located up the hill in Hopfen am See, a stunning place in the Allgäu region with breathtaking views all around, most of all of Schloss Neuschwanstein which can be seen from a distance. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful at all times, the apartment was spacious and the food was exceptional (organic and locally grown) - fantastic breakfast buffet and a delicious choice of freshly cooked dishes every evening. The pool area is spacious and welcoming and there are free aquagym courses on offer.
